HTMud Help File

You will need to follow the quick start guide to play htmud - if you don't it won't work!

Quick Start Guide! [new 7/31/04, Updated 8/3/05 ]

Step 1) Login/Create an account at http://mud.htmod.com
Step 2) If after logging in you only have an option that says "upgrade my account", click on that, logout, and log back in.
Step 3) Scroll down to LEVEL 2 OPTIONS after logging in
Step 4) Click Reset Position
Step 5) Click the button "And Go!"
Step 6) Download, extract, and run: http://mud.htmod.com/distros/HTMud-alpha-.098a.rar
Step 6.5) If the server is not running, go pester Sim9 in the IRC channel to turn it on! ;)
Step 7) Run HotAir, it will download HTMud. When it finishes, click Play!
Step 8) Enjoy!

How to build a house?

( [new 7/31/04] : You may want to follow these instructions instead as they're newer)

Step 1) Make sure you're not running htmud
Step 2) Login to your account at http://mud.htmod.com
Step 3) Scroll down to LEVEL 2 OPTIONS after logging in
Step 4) Click Build Area
Step 5) Choose an area type you like and can afford
Step 6) Name your area
Step 7) Click Submit and WRITE DOWN THE AREA NUMBER IT GIVES YOU!
Step 8) Click Reset Position
Step 9) Put that area number into the map id number box
Step 10) Click the button "And Go!"
Step 11) Run HTMud, you should start in your new house!

How to get a larger inventory?

( [new 7/31/04] : This is the old system, and mostly outdated. Expect ingame shops soon!)

Step 1) Make sure you're not running htmud
Step 2) Login to your account at http://mud.htmod.com
Step 3) Scroll down to LEVEL 2 OPTIONS after logging in
Step 4) Click Buy objects
Step 5) Choose an object to buy that you can afford
Step 6) Hit Submit
Step 7) Repeat as needed to buy objects you want
Step 8) Run HTMud and check inventory

Command List [new 11/17/02]

/findnum - Don't touch this, it'll probably mess things up
/fps - Toggles showing your fps
/inv - Lists your inventory in text format
/inventory - see above
/ping - Finds out what your ping is
/quit - Quits (duh ;)
[new 7/31/04]:
/who - Displays who is on server, and where they are
/mode - switches between using objects and picking them up
/join - Joins another room

ESC - Exits
Enter - Chat
Left Mouse Button - Pick up objects, drop OR uses, depending on /mode
W,A,S,D - Moves
